Voice Teacher

Audition & Performance Coach

Record Producer

Dr. Vicki Burrichter is now accepting professional, semi-professional, and dedicated amateurs into her studio. She is available for travel to work with artists who are in other cities or on tour. As a superb vocal diagnostician and expert on vocal health and recovery, she achieves quick results when students are willing to do the hard work to become the vocal athlete that professional performers must be. And she is known for her ability, when necessary, to diagnose and dissolve issues of performance anxiety or self-esteem that stand in the way of artists becoming their most powerful selves.  If you use your voice professionally, vocal training is essential for expanded flexibility and expressiveness, and well as the health of
the voice!

Dr. Burrichter is a lifelong singer and actor (nightclubs, studio work, musical theater) and so is able to coach and understand all styles of singing, from pop and jazz to rock and classical. She also coaches audition, studio and live performance techniques and works with corporate executives on their speeches. She works in recording studios as a vocal coach and producer for solo performers and vocal groups. Because of her career as a choral and orchestral conductor, she has years of experience giving clinics and workshops to vocal groups and choruses around the country, and singing in and leading back-up groups for well-known professionals like Kenny Loggins.

Dr. Vicki Burrichter is a full professional, elected member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing. (www.NATS.org)

Coach/Clinician for Choral and Vocal Groups

"This vocal ensemble [conducted by Vicki in 2008] is the best prepared of any group I've had backing me on this tour - excellent!"

-Kenny Loggins, Recording Artist

"Canto Spiritus should be touring and recording - you are that good!"

-Moses Hogan, New York Choral Festival Judge

"As a member of Hearts Afire, a women's trio, Dr. Vicki has brought our ensemble singing to the highest level we have ever achieved...a place, I believe, we could not have achieved without her.  She understands the ensemble sound.  When something doesn't sound right, she knows what needs to change and how the singer should do it.  And she offers this with grace, humor, and gentleness that makes her a joy to work with."

-Kay Johnson from Hearts Afire, touring and recording vocal ensemble

Dr. Burrichter's major passion and experience is in working with choral and vocal groups of all kinds - from small a capella pop and jazz vocal groups to classical professional chamber choirs to symphony choruses. With a Ph.D. in Choral Literature and Conducting (secondary in Orchestral Literature and Conducting), and decades of experience with singers and vocal ensembles, she is able to laser her work with groups to provide maximum benefit and acceleration of the group's skill and expressive qualities.

She is also available for professional clinics with college and high school choruses, community choirs, church choirs, chamber choirs and symphony choruses. (References are available. Performer Support Group Available!

Do you feel as if you need to perform in front of people more to often to work up material and get feedback, to practice singing in front of people and getting out the nerves, to ask others how they are dealing with challenges only other singers can understand, to have more community to keep you motivated about your singing goals? If so, this group is for you! Because of the many requests for this, I have two PERFORMER SUPPORT GROUPS! This is not a therapy group, of course, but has some of the qualities of that - but for performers (and it's a lot more fun than therapy)!

  • Doesn't take a lot of time, but does provide big payoffs.  Meet once a month, either the 1st or 3rd Wednesday of the month, from 7:00-9:00 p.m.
  • Intimate setting. No more than 8 people per group, no less than 4.
  • Must be a private voice student of Dr. Vicki's at this time, or if a past student, send me an email about why this group works for you right now. I'll check to see if there is room at this time.
  • First come, first serve! Let me know if this new opportunity sounds like something to help propel you into new expression!

Remember, everyone has something they need from the community, and everyone has something they can give to the community. If you have never been in a fun support group of artists, there is nothing more wonderful!!

More Recommendations for Dr. Vicki:

"Vicki is astonishingly brilliant in bringing out the best in me as a singer and person. She not only exudes patience and loving support, she does so while challenging me to reach beyond my own expectations."
-Darrel Sonday

"Vicki Burrichter is a phenomenal vocal instructor. Her lessons offer a perfect blend of expertise, method, and humor. In the short time I've worked with her, I've noticed a significant improvement in my ability to sing difficult notes without straining. Before seeing Vicki I had lost confidence in my voice and there were notes in the middle of my range that I could no longer sing without cracking. The exercises she recommended and improved breathing techniques allowed me to work through those barriers. After 4 months of lessons, Vicki coached me through an audition with a local A Cappella group and I can proudly say I made it into the group (YEAH!!!). That wouldn't have happened without Vicki's help and I'm hugely grateful. I recommend Vicki to anyone who's interested in taking their singing ability to the next level."
-Carol McKenzie

"Vicki's experience working under master musical theater teacher David Craig and her honest and sincere observations have helped me become a more confident and spiritual singer. Vicki helped me cross the line from NEVER getting cast to working professionally in the Denver theater scene!"
-Sara Rosenberg

"I have been a working musician for over 25 years and have taken voice lessons from several different teachers in the past.  After working with Dr. Vicky for only a session or two she helped me figure out and correct some issues with my singing that have been giving me challenges for my whole career.  My singing is much easier and I sing more in tune and am not fighting myself as much.  I recommend Dr. Burrichter for anyone who wants to improve their singing and have more fun doing it."
-Tommy LeRoux, The Nacho Men, LeRoux Entertainment

"Dr. Vicki has been a fabulous teacher for me! She encourages all students to assess their personal goals for lessons and then with her extensive education and experience has a warehouse of tools and exercises to assist you in attaining those goals. It is great also that she is a vocal professional herself with a huge variety of musical styles under her belt. It has been so helpful to me for her to actually DO the exercises with me to clarify specific aspects of the exercise. She quickly identified areas in my voice for improvement, and with professionalism, humor and enthusiasm helped me make huge strides in those areas in a relatively short time."

-Edie Peay

"Vicki teaches with passion and professionalism. She garners respect through her experience, undeniable talent, and ability to get her message across directly and clearly. She holds high expectations of her students, but also gives them the tools to execute those goals. She is an absolute pleasure to work with!"

-Shelby Bernard

"Dr. Vicki is a joy to study under! She has a keen ability to identify and intuitively know what will improve each individual's voice. It's wonderful how she taps into that and the results are inspiring."

-Nova Carlton

"Working with Vicki is not only an incredibly growth-filled experience, both vocally and personally, it's also fun. You won't find a more dedicated and talented vocal teacher and coach. Treat yourself to the experience!"
-Patty Whitelock, soprano

"I have been taking voice lessons from Vicki for about 2 years and I can’t begin to express how my life has grown because of my time with her. She truly teaches from the heart, by building confidence, self-esteem, and a true sense of accomplishment. The music just flows from that point."

-Pete Peterson

"Dr. Vicki Burrichter has a very gentle approach to voice lessons. Not only does she help her students train their voices for performance, she teaches how to protect their voices, or their "Vocal Gold" as she calls the vocal mechanism. Studying voice with her is a pleasure, non-threatening, and very helpful."

-Donna Schulte

"Dr. Vicki is an incredible teacher. Her expertise, intuitiveness, and kindness is a blessing."
-Lisa Bahr

"All my life I'd dreamed of taking voice lessons, but was way too intimidated by the concept since I never learned to read music and I certainly never thought I'd start in my 5th decade. But Vicki made it so easy, and is so supportive and creative in coaxing out of a person what they never even knew was there! The 18 months I was able to spend were phenomenally effective!"
-Fran Tafuro

"I am a tenor who has been singing for over 30 years. I have sung in a number of concert choirs and in the chorus of Opera Colorado, for many seasons. As a veteran chorister, I rarely sang solos, and then only from the midst of the choir. When I had an opportunity to do a solo turn at Mile High church, onstage with a mike, I asked Vicki to help me out. She was great at showing me some techniques to broaden my range and especially great at helping me put on a more natural, confident performance...something I had never done before. I would wholeheartedly recommend Vicki to anyone who wants to grow as a singer."
